GENERAL:
Reminder—Carson City-Crystal Schools is a closed campus. Once you arrive, you must not leave school property.
Hats and Hoods must be removed upon entering the building. Cell phones and all electronic devices must be stored in the student lockers.
SENIORS:
There is also a new scholarship posted for any students who will be pursuing a career in the health field. See the board for the Carson City Hospital Auxiliary Scholarship.
JUNIORS:
Applications are available for 2012 Boys State and Girls State. These programs are a wonderful opportunity to learn about government – and looks great on a college application!
Applications are on the board outside of the main office, and can be returned to Ms. Whalen or Ms. Christensen.
College Fair Opportunity! The 2012 West Michigan National College Fair is Thursday March 29th at DeVos Hall in Grand Rapids from 6-8 pm. A great chance for Freshman, Sophomores, and Juniors to check out tons of schools with one trip! More information is available at nacacnet.org – see Ms. Whalen with questions!

Again this year Montcalm Area Career Center in conjunction with Montcalm Community College will administer the COMPASS test to students who are interested in Cosmetology for the 2012-13 school year. The test will be given on the following date at The MACC:
April 11, 2012 (Session A 8:00 am-10:30 am) (Session B 12:00 pm-2:30 pm)
Three tests will be given (Numerical, Writing, and Reading). Students will need their social security number so the test can be processed. All material for the test will be provided, but if students wish to bring their own calculators they may. It is highly recommended that students ride the Career Center bus. If students miss this date it is their responsibility to make arrangements with Montcalm Community College by April 30, 2012.

COLLEGE INFORMATION:
Seniors – keep an eye on the scholarship board for updated scholarship opportunities.
MCC and MACC will be here on Wednesday, April 11th during first hour to present MCC Dual Enrollment classes and MACC classes. On Tuesday, April 17th MCC will be here to give our students the Compass test at 8 am and 12 noon. Please sign up for the Compass test on April 11th during the MCC meeting or stop in and see Mrs. Christensen. Any students who want to meet with Debbie Alexander from MCC one-on-one may also sign up with Mrs. Christensen–Debbie will be here all day on April 17th during the compass testing. Any questions, please stop in the high school office.
MISCELLANEOUS:
Memorial day Queens Pageant Hubbardston American Legion Sunday April 22nd at 2pm.
We need girls to run for Junior Queen, ages 10 13
And girls to run for queen 14 18.. Please contact Fortney Ward at 517 930 1837 or Kelly Melton at 989 763 7666 for more information. Girls will need to arrive at the legion at 1pm.
Mrs. Holden is having a contest and the winner gets a 5 dollar gift certificate to the Blue Nugget. The contest is open for all students not currently enrolled in American history. Check out the display case next to the west gym for more information.
