Nature does all of the work!

On Saturday, March 6, 2004 I started my first automated time lapse project at 6:45 PM EST using a Nikon Coolpix 995 digital camera and a DigiSnap 2000 Electronic Shutter Release. The experiment ended about 34.83 hours later (209 images later) when the camera's battery was discharged.
The Nikon camera is covered with aluminum foil since it was positioned so close to the 150 Watt grow lights. The DigiSnap 2000 Electronic Shutter Release is in the center of the field of view -- 2/3's of the way down in the photograph -- on the table top. HyperTerminal was used to program the DigiSnap 2000 Electronic Shutter Release to make the Nikon Coolpix 995 camera take a picture every 10 minutes. Image Converter.EXE software was used to process the 209 images (crop, resize, sharpen) before using QuickTime software.

Download the Phalaenopsis movie Caution: the FILE SIZE is 13 MB. Do a "Right-Click" with the mouse to specify where to download the movie -- in a folder known to you. Then, open the movie through your Media Player.
