Note: the undersides of the leaves have spines and the seed pods consist of miniature puff balls similar to Yellow Goat's-beard's puff balls. Smooth Sowthistle (a look-a-like) has larger dandelion-like flowers and there are no spines on the undersides of its leaves. Its seed pods produce white bristle-like silk attached to the seeds.
Flowers are 6 millimeters wide.
Found along roadsides and in waste places.
